Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and with the widely celebrated festival of love falling on a holiday this year, what better way to spend it than with someone you love, in the comfort of your own home? Assuredly, Valentine’s Day for many people is not just a ‘couple’ thing. Whether you’re celebrating the day of love with someone special or toasting singledom with friends, treat yourself to a little love-in this Valentine’s Day. Turn your home into a vision of love – pop a bunch of beautiful blooms in your favorite vase, gather up your comfiest cushions and light your most luxurious candles to create that perfect ambiance. So, let’s fall in love with your home decor this Valentine’s Day and create a cozy night in for you and your loved ones with our Valentine’s Day decor tips.

Change in interior & Color:

A night in is all about preparation and setting the scene. But, for one night out of the year you don’t want to break the bank, so we suggest purchasing a new home accessory to add a bit of spice on the night, but will also look great all year round. And because we like to shy away from the too-traditional, why not swap for Valentine’s red or hot pink? A gorgeous pink throw will add an element of heat to any romantic night – and you will love its coziness the rest of the year. For interiors, think snuggling up, comfort and indulgence. Touch and tactility are key, so opt for opulent and soft to the touch textiles and materials to surround yourself with. No need to say, red, pink and white must be your color palette for everything.

Steer clear of sugary pinks and primary red tones and instead opt for a sophisticated and grown-up palette. Dusty pink and mucky burgundy tones will complement male and female spaces (Pantone Marsalla and Mahogany Rose are equally suited to both men and women) blending well with most color palettes to add depth. Don’t be afraid to layer up multiple tone and textures for a richer and more interesting result. Think lux silks, cotton velvets, heavy knot throws and deep filled upholstery to snuggle up in.

Traditional or V-Day vignette:

If you don’t want to be overboard with lovey dovey decoration, you can make your own vignette in your coffee table, hutch or simply in dining table. A bit of white tulle lends whimsy and romance to any decor setting. A vignette with a small vase of roses, traditional clocks, and a place setting can be elegantly draped with tulle.  Glassware, scrabble papers, wooden love blocks, colorful candies and handmade love banner are perfect to add for a V-day vignette.

Love Note & Heart garland Clothespin Wreath:

We only remember clothespins when doing laundry, but now is the time to make them part of more pleasant memories. As we all know, a wreath is the most popular and coolest idea for decoration. You can easily DIY one with yarn ornaments and heart garlands in red, pink and white colors. Fabric hearts strung together make for a super cute Valentine’s Day garland that will bring a little extra love to your home. Simple garland featuring burlap flags and cut-out hearts doesn’t feel overly frilly. These heart decorations are great for Valentine’s day or any other love themed parties. They are pretty awesome to create a backdrop for a photo booth too.

Although “old school”, any person receiving a romantic note will surely love the idea. The love note is simple, artistic, and the supplies are inexpensive for your valentine’s wreath. So easy and perfect!

Hidden Treasures & Valentine Matchbooks:

Make this love season the time for your heart’s desire to uncover little treasures all around. Design little hearts and hide them different places for them to uncover. You can also wow your valentines by creating valentine matchbooks and using them as treat holders. Place one end of bagged candy inside the bottom fold and staple to close the bottom of your matchbook. Tuck top fold in. Your gift is ready to place in your goodie bag decoration.

Wooden love blocks and Mason Jars:

You can spray paint your regular mason jars for V-day and fill it with treats that will make your loved one’s smile. Adding confetti or candle in mason jars can really make them timeless gifts. By the window or hang at the nearby tree that’s overlooking your window — mason jar lantern is a perfect expression of celebrating the spirit. You can also add a charming touch to your home decor by wooden and stackable love blocks.

Floral arrangement for your table Decor:

How about adding some delicate florals to create a relaxing yet romantic atmosphere? Don’t forget that spring is in the air, fresh flowers are very easy and effective way to dress a room adding an immediate touch of celebration to a tea or dinner party. Red and white flowers are a Valentine’s Day go-to for a reason: They scream romance. One vibrant color with them can be a top contender too. Pairing the classic color combo with an unexpected hue, like the marigold, keeps it from feeling cliché. Pairing the palest pink flowers, you can find with a healthy dose of greenery, in a stunning tablescape, helps create a dreamlike centerpiece any flower child would love.

Heart garlands are also good for red table runners, tablecloths, centerpieces, red tableware and glasses to create a beautiful table setting. Stringing a flower chain above your table is not only festive, but smart as well. Keeping the table clear of vases means more room for dessert!

You now probably have an idea on numerous decoration ideas for keeping the fire burning on your Valentine’s party. Settle down in the coziest of corners, tucked up under the chunkiest blankets with a bowl of popcorn and binge watch yet another series. Guaranteed to be a Netflix n Chill night to remember with weekend romance and affection.
